Peel off base coat
Amber D'Halluin
1. What is a peel off base?
A peel off base coat is a quick removable base coat and works like double sided tape on your nails. The name says it all, it is a base coat that you can remove (peel) from your natural nails using a stick/pusher. You have toΒ base coatΒ so do not soak off or remove with a file. A peel off base dries in the air and therefore does not need to be cured in a nail lamp. The base coat is only recommended for use with gel polish.
2. How long does a peel off base last?
A peel off base stays on the nails for an average of two weeks. Depending on the external load (bumps, cleaning agent, etc.) the base coat will adhere to the nail for a longer or shorter period of time. Due to the easy removal, the peel off base has a shorter lifespan than a regular base coat. It is a base coat that we recommend for short events or for people who like to change manicures.

3.2 Removing the peel off base coat
Using a wooden stick you can scrape the peel off base from the nail plate.Β NB:Β Remove the peel off gel polish in the direction of nail growth.
Tip:Β When removing a peel-off manicure, we recommend using a buffing file with a high grit (600-3000) to close the nail scales.
4. Is a peel off base bad for your nails?
A peel off base does not have a negative effect on your nails. It is a base coat that you can easily peel off without damaging your natural nails. When removing your manicure, make sure not to push too hard with the cuticle pusher so that you do not damage your nail plate. We also recommend that you file your nails with a polishing file with a high grit (600-3000) immediately after removing your manicure. This will give your nails a natural shine.
5. Can you use glue as a peel off base?
It is strongly discouraged to use glue as a peel off base. Applying glue to your natural nails can cause a lot of damage. Due to the hardness and the ingredients present in the glue, your natural nail plate is severely damaged during wearing and removing. Also, you cannot create an even surface with glue, which makes your artificial nails look unkempt.
