What is nail prep for?

What is the difference between nail prep and primer?
Nail prep and primer each have their own function in the manicure process. Nail prep removes moisture from the nail plate, temporarily and locally drying out the nails for better adhesion of nail products. It is used as the first step in a manicure and is suitable for all nail types.

Primer is applied after nail prep and acts as a bonding agent between the nail plate and artificial nail products. It makes the product last longer and prevents lifting. There are both acidic primers and acid-free primers, depending on your nail type.
