Collection: Nail drill and bits
Bits are available in different types, shapes and coarseness.
Types: Diamond bits have a grit. These are only used on the natural nail or on the skin. Carbide bits have incisions. These are only used on artificial products and therefore not on the skin or natural nail. Ceramic bits also have incisions, but are designed from a different material that conducts heat less quickly. Stainless steel bits have neither grit nor incisions, making it very difficult to injure the client.
Coarseness: The colored bands on the bits indicate the coarseness. Yellow is very fine, red is fine, blue is medium, green is coarse & black is very coarse.
How long can you use each bit before they wear out?
- Stainless steel: up to 18M depending on frequency of use and care
- Diamond: up to 3M depending on frequency of use and care
- Carbide: up to 7M depending on frequency of use and care
- Ceramic: up to 12M depending on frequency of use and care
The bits may be disinfected in a disinfectant solution. They may also be sterilized in sterilizers or autoclaves. Make sure that you always rinse the bits sufficiently after disinfection and store them dry to maximize their lifespan.
